THE CAR

The car is a 2007 Ford Fiesta XR4 (the Australian version of the ST150) powered by a Duratec HE 2.0 litre motor mated to the Ford/Getrag IB5 Gearbox.
It currently weighs in at about 1030Kg after all the trim, audio, airconditioning, airbags, sensors, etc were removed and a CDS steel rollcage was fitted in-house.

The suspension has been upgraded with KW springs and dampers plus a custom rear anti-sway bar.  Camber, castor and toe settings change regularly.  Control Yokohama 048 tyres are fitted to 15x7" rims instead of the standard 17" rims due to the availability, cost and gearing advantages of 15" tyres.   The wheel PCD was modified to 4x100mm as suitable and cost effective 15" 4x108 wheels were not available.

An EMS "Stinger" 4484 ecu and a Mychron3 XG Log dash display and data logger replaces the Ford ECU.  All tuning has been done by Sean Arthur of Adrenaline Performance and Fabrication in Bunbury.

The gearbox is near standard, apart from a Tran-X LSD and a 4.25 final drive.  We use Redline L/W Shockproof gearoil to look after the LSD and it is working well.

The ABS system has been removed and a rear proportioner and QFM race pads fitted. The front calipers are now 6Pot forged to reduce sprung weight.

The engine has had most of the usual mods - lightened crank and flywheel, high compression forged pistons, high lift cams, etc, etc.  The biggest issue we have had with development is the restrictive engine bay size which severely limits what we can  do with the intake system.
